Da Aldone is a steakhouse in the centre of Florence, on Via Nazionale, a short walk from the Mercato Centrale and Santa Maria Novella station. Three friends, Aldo, Gerthard and Klevis, opened it with a simple idea: the right meat over embers, pasta rolled by hand and a welcome that makes you feel at home.
We are open every day from 11am to 11pm (Mondays from 11:30am), without a break: for lunch between museums, for a long dinner around a bistecca alla fiorentina, or for a plate of pici in the middle of the afternoon.
The sheet is rolled by hand on marble, under the lights of the dining room. Then it becomes pici, ravioli, pappardelle: the course that comes before the grill.
On the menu: pici with wild boar ragù or with beef meatballs, our house strozzapreti, Tuscan gnudi with butter and parmesan, and pasta with fresh truffle.
The steak is cut at the block, thick on the bone. Then it goes over embers: crust outside, red inside, served on hot stone. No marinades, no shortcuts.
You choose the cut together with us: Tuscan Chianina IGP, Scottona heifer, Irish Black Angus, Italian aged cow, Finnish Sashi and the chef's prime selection. The Florentine steak is priced by weight and goes in the middle of the table, to share.

Roughly €35–50 per person for a pasta course, a main and a side, and €50–70 per person with a Florentine steak to share, drinks excluded. Pasta dishes cost €12–18, steaks €58–120 per kilo, cover charge €3.
No, we do not offer takeaway: all dishes are served only at the table, in the restaurant.
Florence's historic centre is a limited traffic zone (ZTL), so it is best to come on foot, by train or by tram: Santa Maria Novella station is a few minutes away. By car, the most convenient public car park is Parcheggio Stazione Binario 16, in Piazzale Montelungo by the Fortezza da Basso, about a 10-minute walk.

Yes: bruschetta, caprese, pappa al pomodoro with burrata, gorgonzola and asparagus risotto, gnudi with butter and parmesan, grilled vegetables and several salads.
